Fun Indoor Gardening Activities for Kids

From rainy days and cold weather to blistering heat, there are plenty of reasons why we can’t spend as much time outdoors as we may want. Thankfully, there are ways to have outdoor fun indoors. These indoor gardening activities are sure to be guaranteed fun for your kids!

  1. Customize seed envelopes: Whether you’re collecting seeds at the end of the season, taking part in a seed library, or just looking for a fun craft, there are so many ways to decorate these little envelopes.
  2. Design your own pots: Why use plain terracotta pots when you can turn them into beautiful garden art? You can also paint window boxes and deck rail planters, too.
  3. Make herb/vegetable stakes: Looking for something that will be helpful outside, too? Take some popsicle sticks (or something similar) and label them with the seeds you’ve started (or plan to start).

There are so many other ways to bring the outdoors in. Check out these and others at the Food Gardening Network. Which ones are you planning to try?
