Water Vapor in Closed Environment Systems – Student Investigation

Designed for:
Learning Styles: Independent (student resource), Classroom based
Resource Type: Document

Plan an Investigation

Discuss the importance of water vapor in creating a comfortable environment and the role of green plants in contributing water vapor through the process of transpiration.

Ask students to “brainstorm” a list of questions they have about the transpiration process. (e.g. how can we prove plants transpire? which parts of the plant yield water vapor? how much water vapor is released?)

Divide the class into small groups. Ask each group to decide upon a question they wish to investigate. Discuss with students the process to follow in planning and carrying out their investigation using The Investigation Plan
